his Tuesday at the state house, President Salva Kiir Mayardit and the First Vice President Taban Deng Gai held a high level briefing with the State governors and paramount chiefs a long the borders of South Sudan and Sudan in a meeting attended by, Presidential advisors, Defense and police chief to seek concise and up to date review on the progress in the joint political and security mechanisms on the borders between South Sudan and Sudan.
President Salva Kiir seek answers on the status of the operationalization of the security arrangements agreed with the Republic of the Sudan on the safe demilitarization of the buffer zone.
While addressing the meeting, President Salva Kiir urged the state governors and paramount chiefs bordering the Safe Demilitarized Buffer Zone to work collectively with the national government to implement the security agreement reached between the two sisterly countries. President Salva also urged the State governors and Paramount Chiefs to attend the national peace celebration that will take place in Juba on 30th of this month.
First Vice President Taban Deng Gai urged the State governors and paramount chiefs to support the national government in enhancing the working cooperation between the two countries. Taban Deng Gai also emphasized on the opening of the six joint border corridors with Republic of the Sudan to boost trade between the two Countries.
Minister of Defense and Veteran Affairs, Kuol Manyang Juuk stressed on the importance of implementing the security arrangements for the safety co-existence between the two Countries.
Meanwhile the Chief of Defense forces, General Gabriel Jok Riak urged President Salva Kiir to establish the technical team site to facilitate the implementation of the border demarcation between the two borders.
